Worship Arts

“Worship songs can’t be rooted in culture – they won’t go deep enough. They have to be rooted in scripture.  Matt Redman

River City Church desires to glorify God in every aspect of our worship services, including our music.  Our music focus is to be scripturally faithful and relevant to what is taught on each Sunday morning.  This lends itself to an eclectic blend of classic hymns, contemporary hymns, and contemporary worship songs.  You may hear an piano & drum, an organ, a string quartet, or a guitar on any given Sunday, on any given song.

You Are Needed!

If you would like to get involved in any of the following ministries, contact our Music Ministry Director, John Wilcox, at john@rivercitychurchepc.com.
Seasonal Choir
The Seasonal Choir is a place where you can participate in the worship experience corporately.  Whether, a beginner or an accomplished vocalist, the seasonal choir is a great ministry with a low commitment level.  Generally our practice times are on Saturdays leading up to Christmas and Easter.
Handbell Ensemble
Whether you are a seasoned musician or a musical hobbyist, our handbell choir might be a great fit for you.  We play 4 or 5 times a year and our practices are generally following our Sunday morning worship service.
Praise Band

Our Praise Band is a group of gifted musicians and vocalists who walk our congregation through the Sunday morning worship cycle.  If you excel in a musical instrument or vocals, we invite you to be part of our Praise Band. This ministry has a high level commitment – you are expected to attend our Saturday morning rehearsals at 9AM and Sunday mornings at 8:30am..

String & Woodwind Ensemble
Occasionally we enhance our worship service with a classical touch by adding orchestral instruments.  If you play a violin, cello, oboe, clarinet, or any other type of wood or stringed instrument we invite you to participate in our String & Woodwind Ensemble.  Keep an eye out for rehearsal dates.
Children’s Choir

The Music Ministry and Children’s Ministry partner together as we prepare our children for singing on Sunday mornings during our worship service.  The Children learn songs during the Sunday school hour as a regular part of the Sunday school curriculum.  The Children’s Choir sing 4 or 5 times a year, including Christmas and Easter worship services.  Children’s Sunday school meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 AM every Sunday.
